For 135 years, we’ve continued to reimagine ceiling fan design to transform your space. Creating styles that inspire and technologies that keep you comfortable. Hunter Fan Company was born out of a desire to innovate, inventing the first ceiling fan in 1886. We’ve continued to push forward with what’s possible while remaining true to our core values. Our commitment to you helps continue to make us the best ceiling fan brand around.

Confidence you can feel.

You inspire us every day. Focusing on what people need, we engineer expertly-crafted fixtures that do more than simply move air or emit light—they elevate the entire mood of a space.

From start to finish, we’re paying attention to the details. We bring a keen eye for design to create bespoke styles that match any taste. We use high quality materials like feather-light, aluminum blades and whisper-quiet motors. We test and prototype until we know we’ve created a product with proven function and durability. In the end, you have a ceiling fan with performance that lasts and craftsmanship that wows.

Your proven experts.

It starts in our testing lab in Memphis, Tennessee, where our engineers and lab technicians put our products to the highest standard of testing. We perform twice the amount of agency required testing. We've even invented some of the tests that are now required for all ceiling fan manufacturers, like the blade iron shake test. We use UV lights and pressurized water hoses to test our outdoor ceiling fans to ensure they’ll maintain their performance and design, rain or shine.

We take performance seriously. It’s just the way we are. It’s the reason why our fans are engineered with direct-drive motors to move more air and why we use light that’s efficient and bright. Materials, motor, blade shape and pitch -- every element is meticulously engineered and designed to deliver a whisper-quiet, wobble-free fan.

The leader in innovation.

Hunter Fan Company was founded on innovation. John Hunter and his son James used their shotgun manufacturing business to start the very first ceiling fan manufacturer. From there they went on to engineer a belt driven ceiling fan run by a water system followed by one of the first electric ceiling fans.

We haven’t stopped innovating for 135 years. We’ve pioneered new designs and ground-breaking innovations, from our SureSpeed® high-velocity ceiling fans to our WeatherMax® corrosion-resistant fans. We collaborated with aerospace engineers to develop our HVLS industrial fans. We’ve redesigned ceiling fan components to be easy to install, like our snap-on blades or pre-installed remote receivers. While we’re made up of a team of designers and engineers, we’re inventors at heart.

Every day, we look to push past what’s possible with ceiling fan technology and design. Our commitment to helping you transform your space at every step is what keeps us going every day.
