Helping when families need it most
For some, it may be hard to imagine being only one hardship away from a family becoming homeless. But for many of Americans, this is a reality. And for those in shelters, the family is often separated. Mothers, fathers, and even children can end up in completely separate locations. The Dorothy Day House is dedicated to keeping families together. Based in Memphis, they provide safe, temporary housing and support services needed for families.
A Huntervention with heart
Every day Hunter is focused on the importance of a comfortable home, that’s why our employees felt a special connection to The Dorothy Day House. For two days, we rolled up our sleeves and volunteered to turn their third house, Joseph’s House, into a space its residents will be proud to call home. We brought in comfortable furnishings, lighting, Hunter ceiling fans, and finishing touches to make a home special to us and important to families.
The love continues
We’re just getting started with this Huntervention. During the month of December, we will be donating $5 for every fan purchased on Hunterfan.com to help The Dorothy Day House. Our donation will not only help provide a place to live, but it will also help provide services like transportation and job search assistance and most importantly keeping deserving families together.
