MEMPHIS, Tenn., 10/15/2026 – Hunter Fan Company has been honored with the Advocacy Pillar Award from the American Lighting Association (ALA), recognizing the company's contributions to addressing critical issues facing the residential lighting industry.
Presented at the 2026 ALA Conference in Tucson, Arizona, the award recognizes Hunter's efforts to address the widespread sale of non-compliant ceiling fans through online marketplaces. Hunter helped ALA identify the scope of the issue and supported industry collaboration to address these products and strengthen marketplace accountability.
Hunter has also worked closely with ALA's government affairs initiatives, contributing industry expertise, resources, and real-world insights to support discussions surrounding regulatory challenges and fair competition.
"This award may have Hunter's name on it, but advocacy really is a team effort," said Julia Davis, Lead Industrial Designer at Hunter Fan Company, during her acceptance speech. "So many ALA members contributed their time, expertise, and resources to make ALA's advocacy efforts successful."
Davis accepted the award on behalf of Hunter at the conference, recognizing the collective efforts of ALA members and industry partners working to support a fair and responsible marketplace.
