The Sophia glamorous ceiling fan is really the star of this bedroom, so we wanted to bring out more of the glamorous aspects of it into the rest of the room. It has a lantern light fixture with exposed Edison bulbs, seeded glass and a high polished nickel finish, so we took some of those elements and applied it throughout the room. You’ll see a lot of metal tones and a lot of mercury glass touches that tie in nicely with the statement ceiling fan.

The metallics in the room complement the high polished finishes in the Sophia ceiling fan and also serves as the accent material in the room in place of having an accent color. Then we paired the silver toned metallics with other grey tones in different patterns and different textures: The headboard is a heathered grey tone, the bedspread has a light grey floral pattern, even the rustic wood finished furniture has a grey toned to it. We have some furniture pieces that are a little more transitional as well as some that are more traditional, but they’re all tied together with the nice grey tones in the room. You want to keep a cohesive story in your room, so you don’t want to have something that stands out as being “off”. If you have something that’s a little different, try trying it in with other pieces in the room that match the material, texture or color. Alex Haggar is a designer for Hunter Fan Company.
