Questions about pairing

Q. Do I need to do any pairing for the app or the handheld remote for the app to work?

A. The app requires no additional pairing. However, additional pairing is required to use a single Bluetooth® Plug-in Controller with multiple fans. The handheld remote is pre-paired for your convenience.

Q. If for some reason I need to pair my handheld remote to my fan, how do I do it?

A. To prevent faulty operation, please disconnect power from all other ceiling fans within range while performing these steps. Turn the fan power off and back on at the wall switch (or circuit breaker if necessary). Within three minutes of restoring power to the fan, press and hold both the Fan button and the Light button on the handheld remote for at least four seconds. The lights will flash (if applicable) and the fan will turn on at low speed. This is visual confirmation that the pairing was successful.

Q. I accidentally paired two fans together. How do I unpair them?

A. Select the “Settings” icon from the control page. Select the “Gear” icon for the desired “Room.” Turn on “Advanced Features.” Select “Unpair Devices” and follow the steps in the app’s pop-up prompt.

Questions about the app

Q. Can I operate my fan and lights while I am away from home?

A. The app only works while within range of the Bluetooth® Plug-in Controller. However, while within range, you can use the app to schedule events. Once events are scheduled, your fan and lights will operate automatically even while you are away.

A. While in the app, select the scheduling icon from the control page. Tap the + symbol to add a new event. Set the fan and/or light on to the desired state. Select the desired days of the week and time of the day for the event. Tap “Set.”

Q. What is “security,” and how do I turn it on?

A. “Security” is a function that turns the ceiling fan’s light(s) on and off randomly from 6pm to 10pm to give the perception that your house is occupied. To turn on this feature, select the scheduling icon. Tap the “badge” security icon. Select the desired days of the week and tap “Set.”

Q. How do I set the sleep timer?

A. Select the timer icon. Push the light and/or fan button to “On.” Select the desired length of time. Tap “Start.”

Q. What are “Rooms,” and how do I use them?

A. A “Room” is any combination of compatible fan(s) set up to act as one unit. For example, the app with a user-defined “Room” titled “Office” would control the paired fan or fans in that “Room” with a single touch. See page 7 of the SIMPLEconnect™ Programmable Control installation and setup guide section “setup for additional fans using a single Bluetooth® Plug-in Controller.”

Q. I placed a single fan with dimming functions in multiple “Rooms” within the app and now the dimming function does not work. How do I fix this?

A. The dimming toggle must be enabled for the fan in every “Room” that it is located in within the app.

Q. My light was dimming, and now it’s not. How do I fix this?

A. Did you recently add your ceiling fan to another “Room” in your app? If you paired your fan to another “Room,” make sure the fan “Dimming Mode” is enabled in that “Room” also. The dimming toggle must be enabled for the fan in every “Room” it belongs to in the app for the dimming to work properly.
