    Still Waiting

    I called Friday and waited 1 1/2 hours before I hung up. I couldn't wait any longer.I called today and waited 1/2 an hour before someone answered and she could not help me and she told me that someone wold call me back. She took my name and number. I'm still waiting. In the mean time, when you call,please have an answer my question ready. My question is : " If I ever have your Thermostat installed, correctly, and I have a problem with it within the 1 year warranty, and I take it off the wall and send it back to you,how cold will it get in my house because my HVAC System has no Thermostat On The Wall ?? !! "

    DON'T PURCHASE--PIECE OF JUNK

    I purchased this last year. It wouldn't work properly after a few months of ownership. They replaced it in February of 2012. Now it is not working again and of course it is past warranty. So I am stuck with a thermostat that I have to manually turn on every day and out my $80. Something that should have lasted 10-15 years can't even work for 6 months! What poor quality and workmanship. Save your money and don't buy a HUNTER!

    Awesome Unit

    I just bought and installed this thermostat. It took less than 5 minutes. Scheduling is easy and flexible. This was my first time installing a thermostat. It works great and looks great as well. I highly recommend it.

    5 minutes in on a Heat Pump

    Temp outside 102F, temp inside after 5 minute install, and running a bit, 78F. Since we are dry here in the desert, cooler than that is ice cold. Great unit, easy install, great price, easy to use!

    Ehh, not really an improvement

    I bought this unit because it was the "top of the line" at Lowes. I figured this would be the best, easiest, most full-featured unit. Best feature - easy to install Worst feature - you will not be able to read the perimeter buttons around the backlit screen. IMPOSSIBLE to read unless you shine with a flashlight. White on gray letters are unreadable and the blue indicators are impossible to even see. I hate this. 2nd Worst feature - my other Hunter thermostat allows 4 programmable periods per day. This one only allows 3. How is that an improvement? 3rd Worst feature - this unit does not Best feature - It shows the "heat/cool to" temperature alongside the room temperature. 2nd Best

    Two flaws

    1) Thermostat does not change on the current daylight savings times. (November 6th) but on Sunday, Oct. 30th. 2) Does not display usage. (Amount of time that the A/C or heat runs daily)

    Auto Mode / Permeant Hold - Locks Heat & Cool Temps to same

    The 44905 thermostat will not work for a vacation home or a home where you will be away for weeks at a time and the outside weather is changing from hot to cold or reverse. Despite being an "Auto" Thermostat, when you attempt to set the Cooling Temperature, the Thermostat sets the Heating Temperature to the same value (or the reverse). For Example: You want the Heat to come on to prevent pipes from freezing, so you set the Heating Temperature to 45 F deg. The 44905 also sets the cooling to 45 F deg, instead of leaving the cooling set at say 90 F deg. The result is the house will be cooled down by the Air Conditioning system till it reaches 45 F deg.     Love this Product

    I just wanted to say that this is an excellent product! it was a synch to install and I am already seeing big savings in my electric bill. My bill has dropped by about 30 dollars a month compared to what it was last year. At this rate it will pay for itself in no time and the rest of the savings will go directly into my pocket.

    Easy install -- HORRIBLE screen/display

    I went in to the store to buy a different thermostat but ended up buying this one instead, because I thought it looked like it would be easier to program/operate. The installation went fairly smoothly - I really liked the built-in level, the "snap-in" wire installation, and the "no-anchor" mounting screws. All of these things made the installation pretty easy. Definitely more than 5 minutes, but I took my time to make sure I was wiring things correctly. It all went down-hill after the physical installation though. The screen is just HORRIBLE. There is a grid/overlay on the screen, so it can detect where you are touching, that is very distracting. This grid does not show up in any of the picture

    Easy to program, not so easy to install, hard to see display

    I was hoping and expecting for more, to be honest. The "self anchoring screws" were a joke, so I had to go buy anchors and new screws to keep it firmly mounted on the wall. Then, if you have a heat pump as is common in my region, it does not address what to do if your previous thermostat had a wire for "Emergency Heat". This Hunter thermostat has no connector for that wire; I guess I don't need it? At least the instructions or FAQ's could have addressed that. Finally, the back lit screen is very hard to see, and the indicators at the bottom showing what mode you are in (Heat/Off/AC/Auto) and the fan mode (Run/Auto/Off) are so dim you can't even see them.     Good thermostat, however, previous Hunter Thermostats had a daily run-time memory feature that this one does not. It reset to zero at midnight. I like to know how long the system has been running on a given day. I already had a programmable unit installed so I returned this one.

    Great Product!

    I recently purchased a New Hunter Thermostat and installed it in my home. I have tried installing other thermostats without much success. I can honestly say it was a since to install this 5 minute thermostat and I recommend it to everyone. I am ready to start seeing the savings on my power bill. Thanks Hunter Fan!!!!

    I just purchased one of these new thermostats and it was so easy to install. Much easier than the Honeywell digital thermostat I purchased a few years ago. Great product!!!! Hunter has outdone themselves this time.
