paid for itself in 3 months

It has worked fine for me. You have to read the directions on how to set it(which are printed on a sticker on the inside of the cover), which will take up the better part of 5-10 minutes of your day. I get yearly energy consumption reports from my gas and electric utilities, after having this thing for a couple years, the results are real and large. One of the smartest $60 I ever spent.

    DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

Model 44260 came with my house. It won't program, it resets to 60 or 68 so i get cold in the evenings and hot in the middle of the night. Now, this cold winter night, I think it died, won't change from 60 at all. I would never buy another from this company.

Programmable settings for heat keep resetting to 60 degrees at least two or three times a day, tried fresh batteries but still same problem.

Very unreliable. Very intermittent. This is lower end and would recommend upgrading to something more dependable.

    JUST INSTALLED MY HUNTER THERMOSTAT

WELL THE INSTALLATION WAS VERY SIMPLE AND THE 5 MINUTE INSTALL THEY ADVERTISE IS TRUE, VERY SIMPLE TO INSTALL. I WILL HAVE TO LET EVERYONE KNOW ABOUT PERFORMANCE. THE REASON I BOUGHT THIS TERMOSTAT WAS MY OLD ONE WAS JUST NOT ACTING RIGHT. NO WONDER IT WAS THE ORIGINAL THAT CAME WITH THE HOUSE, WHEN IT WAS BUILT IN 1965, IT WAS TIME TO REPLACE THE OLD ONE. I BOUGHT A HUNTER BECAUSE OF THE OTHER QUALITY PRODUCTS I HAVE BOUGHT WITH THE HUNTER BRAND NAME, I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH HUNTER PRODUCTS, THAT SAYS ALOT ABOUT THIS COMPANY.. THANKS HUNTER AND I HOPE THIS THERMOSTAT LAST 45 YEARS LIKE MY OLD THERMOSTAT DID.... CHRIS ALLEN

    NO set temperature!

This product is not as easy to set as it seems. There is no way to set the temperature in my home. Every time I turn on the heat, the temperature keeps rising and does not stay at a consistent temp. I have called the company numerous times to fix the situation, but I always get put on hold or have to leave a message...still waiting for a response.

I save at least $10 for the first twelve months I've had the thermostat. The heating and AC system is seven years old. When we get it tuned up we should see a increased savings. Initially I bought a Honeywell thermostat and it did not work.
