Money-Saving Tips
- A move in the right direction. Make sure your fan blades rotate properly in summer and in winter for maximum efficiency.
- A big turnoff. Remember, ceiling fans cool people, not rooms. So turn the fan off when you leave the room to save energy.
- It’s getting hot in here. Studies show that most people can adjust their thermostats as high as 82 degrees Fahrenheit and feel just as cool with the ceiling fan running as if the temperature were set at 76 degrees.
- How big a fan are you? Choose the appropriate size fan for each room for maximum efficiency. Hunter can help you determine the right fan for your space.
- You can take it with you. Portable fans can be used to save energy during milder spring and fall months. Just place one in a window to blow cool air into the house either late at night or early in the morning.
- Get the green light. If your ceiling fan includes a light fixture, replace the bulb with a compact fluorescent light (CFL). It uses one-fourth the energy and lasts up to 10 times longer than an incandescent bulb.
- ENERGY STAR®. This is a joint program between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy to help people save money and protect the environment through energy-efficient products and practices. The Energy Star label identifies highly efficient products and designates superior energy performance. Programming Preferences
Hunter provides multiple programming choices to fit your lifestyle:
- 5 + 2 Day allows you to set one schedule for weekday operation and one schedule for weekends. Both settings have four programs per day. This setup is ideal for anyone with a Monday-Friday workweek.
- 5 + 1 + 1 allows one schedule for weekday operation, one schedule for Saturday, and one schedule for Sunday. Each setting has four programs per day. This is ideal for those needing more flexibility on the weekends.
- 7 Day allows completely customizable programs each day of the week. Each day has four adjustable programs.
Energy Star® Pre-programmed Settings
Hunter allows you to begin saving immediately, with no initial programming necessary on Hunter programmable thermostats. They’ve been pre-programmed to meet Energy Star guidelines with the most common weekday/weekend programs—right out of the box.
Wireless Remote Sensor
To create a thermostat system that could truly customize comfort throughout the home, Hunter engineers knew they had to look beyond a traditional one-piece wall-mounted unit. The outcome was the creation of a remote sensor that can be placed anywhere to monitor the temperature at all times. The innovative remote sensor, which is separate from the thermostat, not only reads the temperature in a specific location, but also synchs with Hunter’s programmable Comfort Saver thermostat. That means heat can be set to kick on or off automatically when the sensor reads a preprogrammed temperature. Up to three sensors can be used in conjunction with the Comfort Saver thermostat to provide multiple readings—and control—throughout the home.
INDIGLO® Night Light
Patented INDIGLO technology allows you to light up the LCD time and temperature display on your Hunter thermostat without turning on other lights in the house.
