We've had two issues with this fan (can't comment on the light kit as we did not install it):
1) This fan does not move much air. We have a 13x14 bedroom with a standard 8 foot ceiling, and the fan barely makes a noticeable breeze on high. We follow the standard protocol in reversing the direction for summer and winter.
2) We didn't buy this fan because of the "5-minute" installation features. We bought it because of its attractiveness. However, the "5-minute" features have resulted in fan blades that are noisy and sagging. Instead of using screws to attach the wooden fan blades to the metal blade posts, the "5-minute" fan uses flared metal posts that you push through a rubber grommet in the fan blade. Over time (1 year), the post that is closest to the fan motor pulls out of the rubber grommet, and the fan blade sags and makes creaking and vibrating noises. All 5 fan blades are doing this, and the grommet is either too soft or has expanded too much and will no longer hold the post in place. My temporary fix is a piece of cardboard wedged between the wooden blade and the metal attachment. This is not an attractive look when the fan is turned off. I have looked at the parts list on-line, and it doesn't appear that these grommets are available.
If this fan were well made, it would use machine screws and rubber washers to attach the blades, and not a post and rubber grommet that can pull out over time. This will likely lead to replacement of a $125 fan with one that is of better quality.

I love the way this fan looks, and haven't had any issues with my other models of Hunter fans, however this model is very troublesome. I too have purchased two of these fans due to the light kid burning out. I have tried and tried to contact customer service, but the lines are always backed up for long periods of time. This wasn't a cheap fan from Wal-mart. We remodeled our bedroom and choose this fan because it fit in with the decor. Now we have a ceiling fan that works, but no light.
I wouldn't recommend these fans to anyone. They take much, much longer than five minutes to put up and the light kit burns out easily.

Pull Chain Switch design issue
I purchased 4 Walden five minute fans in July 2014. When one of the bulbs on the light kit fails, it causes the pull chain switch to fail, which is a design flaw and you end up with a fan and no lights. The first fan light kit failed about a week ago and another fan light kit failed yesterday. I looked at Hunter support site but could not find a solution to this issue short of purchasing a new light kit for $20 which in my opinion reduces both the value and quality of this fan. Tried calling hunter support number 888-830-1326 and could not get through since all lines were busy according to the message.

Beautiful... but not very powerful
I purchased two of these for a town home I bought last year; one for my living room and one for my bedroom. My assumption was that the bigger the fan blades the more power/air flow would come from them. This fan is beautiful and pretty easy to put together but the dark glass on the light kit dims the bulbs pretty well. Don't count on it being the primary source of light in any room. I'm upset that it isn't faster; I keep it on the fastest setting and it doesn't seem to move quickly at all. I'm not sure if I should have just gotten a smaller one that would move air quicker....

buyer beware !
Bought two of the Waldon fans about 3 years ago and now the light kit in one of them has arced out and stop working. I was told almost three months ago that parts were on back order and wouldn't be available till mid November. Sent them a reminder email a couple of days ago and they replied "These light kits are no longer on back order. You can place the order on our website and the shipping is free. The part is $20." I called Customer service to order and now there telling that the parts are no longer available and the fan has been discontinued. They did say they would give me a 45% discount toward another fan from there website. Don't think I'll go there!

LIght kit quit working
After 6 months of working fine the lights quit working. Checked and rechecked all the connections, even ordered a new light fixture part for $25. Looks like the only way to fix it is to replace the whole fan even though the fan itself still works.

Hope You Don't Take 5 Minutes Seriously
Bought this fan yesterday going on the promise that it is 90% assembled. What a joke. I like the fan but it took 3 1/2 hours to install, piece by piece. And my husband knows what he is doing.

have purchased 4 of these fans no trouble with 3 . the 4th , different story , light kit wouldn't work ! took the light kits from other fan to check and see if it was fan , fan installation or defective light kit ! the light worked fine on the fan ! tired twice to get replacement light kit , hunter sent pieces of kit , still tired to wire it all up to no available ! called back to get light kit and was told since I had cut wires to splice to old kit it was just too bad !
