Do Not Buy this Fan

I give this fan one star in all areas only because the lighting is so dim.. The workmanship of the fan is beautiful but the lighting....I have no words to explain it. If these are 60 watt bulbs then my flashlight has more light. The fan blades have tiny pin holes, I guess for design which I find unappealing. Also, I find this fan only has one speed which is not good for my smaller kitchen. I searched for some time to find a ceiling fan/light I liked and this one is a dud. I really should have looked at the reviews but didn't think of it. The person who installed it for me threw the box away. I hope Menard's will take it back and refund my money.

blades

Love the motor detail ... but not happy at all with these ridiculous looking little "pin holes" on the blades! Looks like something got spilled and splashed onto the blade when you hold them up to the light! Not sure what I'm going to do. We've got our living room in a mess with our old light down and part of this fan up. The fan was less than $110 which isn't a ton of money but too much to spend, to go buy other blades! (We bought 2 of these fans for our long living room). We are told it's part of the "aged barn wood look" and 'we aren't the first person to complain'. (Menard's management quote). I've never heard of that look with small pin holes!! (Perhaps on tin, but not wood), AND it says 'reversible blade' but the blades have the exact same look on BOTH sides! How's that reversible? AND those pin holes are on BOTH sides!!

Great fan, produces very little light

This fan (the fan part) looks and works great. That little remote works very well, the fan is quiet, and relatively easy to install. But if you are wanting to use this as a source of light, think again. The amount of light it produces, which is very little if any at all, will not work in a room if you want it to be an actual light source. While lit it looks great with the soft amber feel, I find the amount of light to be completely unsatisfactory. I tried new clear 60W bulbs and while there was some improvement there is not enough to measure. I called the Hunter support number 888-830-1326 to inquire about assistance and was told I could order a new light kit and globe. I'm not going to spend another $100 or more to get a light that works when I can buy another that actually works for the same, if not less, money. I'll be returning this to the store unless Hunter wants to keep me as a customer. I rated this low on Quality and Value because of the amount of light produced. I wish I had read the other reviews before buying this fan, would have saved me a lot of time.

Very Low Light - Cannot Use Light Switch w/Remote

I live in a 70s house that had no ceiling light fixtures. I searched for months to purchase 4 Hunter Ceiling fans for my house to replace all of lamps. I love all of them - EXCEPT this one. The fan itself is beautiful with the exception of the blades which have small holes all over them and are much more prominent than what you see on the box. The holes in my blades even have white spots in them, making it more noticeable. In addition to the ugly blades, this ceiling fan does not put out enough light for the medium sized bedroom it was installed in and I have to supplement the light with lamps. I had new electrical wiring run and fans installed to get away from lamps yet I still have to use them because of the poor quality lighting this fan provides. Finally, this fan includes a remote, however if you install the remote receiver, the light switch has to remain on ALL of the time and you have to use the remote to turn the fan on/off. This is a major inconvenience and it doesn't mention this on the box or materials provided - I found out after purchasing it and hiring someone to install it. I don't care if the remote won't let you change fan speeds or dim the light, but I do care that I have to choose between remote only or switch only. It really is quite a ridiculous setup. Unfortunately I waited to hire an electrician until I had decided on all of my new light fixtures and now it is too late to return this horrible fan. Don't buy this fan!!!!

Horrible for light

We purchased 2 of these fans from Menards for a bedroom and computer room. We ended up buying 4 different types of light bulbs just to try to get lighting we can actually see in, which we will have to get new globes...Shouldn't have to seeing as though the light on there should come with a globe that lets out light. They are beautiful at a glance but they do have small holes in the blades which are quiet noticeable. As far as the fan goes it does a great job circulating air. I don't recommend this fan.

Ok if you're wanting a fan but no light.

This ceiling fan puts out very little light... and I mean VERY LITTLE! I even tried a different type of light bulb and it barely lights up my living room. The fan blades all have little holes in it, which is very obvious when you look at the fan. I'm assuming it is supposed to look like that because I took a good look at the picture on the box and I could see the same little holes in the picture. I bought this fan at Menard's and it's too far past the purchase date to return it so I guess I'm going to see if I can buy a different globe and see if that helps. I had to call during installation because the the instructions did not mention where to put the remote receiver once it was wired in.
